Where AI loses steam
The position we see most often in mid-market companies: managers have a vision for AI in their part of the business, and their departments have plans. But the data those plans need is locked inside the source systems, and the only AI in use is a chat add-in that can't see it. The people closest to the work know what to do and can't act on it.
Tools is also where companies overstate what they have. Dashboards built on extracts and a chat add-in bolted onto an existing product both look like AI tooling from the inside.
